Lilla's Revenge returns to the stunning North York Moors, offering runners an unforgettable 10-mile trail adventure along part of the iconic Lyke Wake Walk. This challenging yet rewarding route takes participants through some of Yorkshire’s most historic and picturesque landscapes. The journey begins at Jugger Howe, where competitors will encounter Lilla Howe—the site of the ancient Lilla Cross, dating back to the 7th century and commemorating a noble sacrifice. The trail then leads runners past Louven Howe, believed to be an archaeological treasure from Neolithic or Bronze Age times, adding layers of historical intrigue to each step. As you progress through the rugged terrain, prepare for sweeping views that stretch towards Whitby’s coast and beyond, offering glimpses of Ravenscar, Scarborough Castle, and Blakey Ridge. The route includes a gentle descent down Jugger Beck followed by an ascent onto Jugger Moor, ensuring varied elevation changes throughout the course. However, Lilla's Revenge is not just about scenic beauty; it also challenges runners with unexpected obstacles that require mental fortitude and resilience—symbolizing "revenge" in this unique race concept. These elements are designed to test your resolve as you push towards the finish line. Upon completion of the 10-mile trek within a strict three-hour time limit, participants will receive a bespoke medal celebrating their achievement. The event is strictly limited to 50 runners and requires pre-registration via SiEntries with no entries accepted on race day. Competitors are advised to carry essential items such as food, water, navigation aids (map and compass), and emergency supplies due to the self-sufficiency requirement for this challenging course. Water, coke, and Haribo-type sweets will be provided at the finish line, but runners must manage their hydration and nutrition independently during the race. Registration opens on September 13th from 10 am, with a start time of 11 am sharp. The event is organized by SilverBack Trails under the guidance of Adrian Martin. For those interested in additional support, optional technical T-shirts are available for purchase through their club shop at www.summitcrazy.co.uk. Canine companions are welcome on short leads or harnesses due to grazing sheep along parts of the route, starting five minutes after human runners with adjusted time limits accordingly. Participants must be 18 years old and adhere strictly to safety guidelines. The event is conducted under their own risk principles; therefore, it’s crucial that anyone displaying symptoms associated with recent health concerns stays home for this year's race. Join Lilla's Revenge on September 13th, 2026, for an experience where history meets adventure in the heart of North York Moors.
