Experience the diversity of distances at the Texas Tumbleweed Cycling Event, offering five thrilling options: 12-mile, 33-mile, 50-mile, 67-mile, and the epic 100-mile route. This event not only provides a chance for cyclists to test their limits but also supports local communities through donations benefiting the YMCA of Moore County. The night before the race, enjoy a free spaghetti dinner at McDade Park in the spacious pavilion located across from the high school stadium. On race day, get fueled up with complimentary barbecue lunch and breakfast hosted by the Dumas Lion's Club in the same location. Chip timing is available for all registered participants to ensure accurate results. Winners of the 100-mile course will receive cash prizes: first place ($300), second place ($150), and third place ($50). While podium recognition awaits top finishers on other routes, every participant receives a medal. Additionally, swag bags are provided for all registrants. Children aged 16 and under can join the fun for free when accompanied by an adult rider. Nine rest stops with bathrooms ensure you stay well fueled along your journey, while SAG support teams and law enforcement keep everyone safe on each route. The Hampton Inn and Suites offers special rates for event participants; simply mention your connection to Texas Tumbleweed. Rain or shine, this event promises a memorable experience, regardless of the weather. Remember to wear a helmet as required, and note that e-bikes are allowed but will not compete for cash prizes. Join us for an adventure that combines challenging terrain with scenic beauty and a supportive community spirit!
