Experience the thrill of the Black River Grand Prix, returning on June 19, 2027. This weekend celebration features fast racing with big loops and varied terrain through scenic woodland paths. The format is straightforward: choose one long lap or two for a full dose of Center's best trails. For those aiming to conquer the ultimate challenge, sign up for the Grand Prix race covering an exhilarating 15 miles (25 kilometers). If you're eager for more adventure and want to experience it twice over, the 50k Grand Epic is your destination. For a less competitive but equally enjoyable experience, join the Grand Tour—a relaxed cruise through some of Center's finest trails. The race offers something for every level of rider. Expect a mix of flowy singletrack, technical sections, jarring jumps, doubletracks, and even ski trail descents—plus a bit of pavement at the start. This is VT mountain biking in its purest form: challenging yet rewarding. Race day begins with the Grand Epic field setting off at 10:00 AM for their 25-mile (40-kilometer) adventure. Two loops, including a parade lap, will take you through nearly all Center’s trails in one of our most fun layouts. This is not just any race; it's designed to showcase the local builders' favorite routes. Five minutes later at 10:05 AM, Grand Prix racers start their single loop adventure, offering a taste of everything without going full distance. The final group, the Grand Tour riders, depart at 10:07 AM for a leisurely cruise around the same route but with no loops back to the stadium. First to return wins, ensuring an exciting competition right until the end. The courses will look similar to last year's GP course with some tweaks and reroutes to keep things fresh. Pricing starts at $50 for open racers in the Grand Prix, dropping to $30 for U23 competitors and $25 for juniors (ages 18 and under). The Grand Epic costs $75, while the Grand Tour is just $35. Prizes await the top three overall men and women, plus the best junior (U20) boy and girl in each distance. For those who prefer a more leisurely experience or need accommodations, the Center offers on-site lodging with meals included. A private cabin starts at $155 per night, while rooms in Cedar Lodge dorms begin at just under that amount. Explore our lodging options here or watch this cabin tour from DirtWireTV to get a feel for what's available. Before you hit the trails, check out these DirtWireTV recaps of past races (RIP VT3) to familiarize yourself with Center’s terrain. A weekend adventure awaits at the Outdoor Center—don't miss it!
