The Assault on Sunset Hill 3/6 hour

About the Event

Experience the breathtaking trails of Coldwater Mountain at our upcoming Chainbusters Endurance Series race, sponsored by Hammer Nutrition. Mark your calendars for September 4th as packet pickup commences from 4:30 PM to 8 PM at NEABA HQ (26 West 10th Street, Anniston, AL). Alternatively, pick up packets on the day of the event starting at 7 AM.
Race waves will begin according to a schedule yet to be announced. Two camping options are available for those looking to extend their adventure: Coldwater Camp and Cabins or dry camping sites provided by ONE WORLD PET RESORT, suitable for tents and RVs alike.
Regular registration fees apply through August 19th, 2026. After this date, prices will increase. Race day registrations are not accepted; ensure you sign up in advance to secure your spot.
Refunds and transfers require prior approval from the event director. Unless otherwise stated, the race is scheduled as planned but may be postponed due to natural hazards beyond the control of the race director. In such cases, entry fees will roll over to a rescheduled date announced at a later time.
Race rules are stringent yet clear: mandatory bicycle helmets must always be worn; outside assistance is allowed only in designated pit areas and not on course. Food and drink should either accompany you or be staged in these pits; one water stop is provided along the route. Earbuds are prohibited due to heavy traffic on trails.
Visibility of race numbers, attached prominently to handlebars at the front, ensures fair play. Littering incurs a 15-minute penalty for first offenses and disqualification (DQ) for second. Cutting the course results in immediate DQ with public ridicule. In case of unfixable mechanicals, racers must complete their lap along the entire course to receive credit; backtracking or shortcutting is permitted but won’t count toward your total.
Passing other competitors requires announcing your intention politely and courteously. Solos need one completed lap for an official finish, while teams require each member’s completion of at least one lap.
Winners will be determined by the number of laps completed within the given time frame; in case of a tie, lap times come into play. The race atmosphere is competitive yet friendly, encouraging riders to push their limits and enjoy every moment on Coldwater Mountain's challenging trails.
