The Bell & Harp Chase

The Bell & Harp Chase returns for its second year on Saturday, July 18, 2026, promising an even more exhilarating experience than the inaugural edition. This scenic race kicks off at The Bell & Harp Pub and weaves through the picturesque Derbyshire Dales over a challenging yet accessible 7.5km course.
Competitors will traverse varied terrain that includes rolling hills and well-defined trails, making it suitable for runners of all skill levels. A new addition this year is an extra category for those aged 45+, adding another layer to the competitive spirit. Every runner’s performance will be accurately recorded with chip timing as they vie for top honors.
The race culminates in a grand celebration at The Bell & Harp Pub, where participants can unwind and soak up their achievements over hearty food, lively music, and plenty of camaraderie. Prizes are abundant: the first three finishers in each category will receive cash rewards ranging from £15 to £55, as well as bespoke artisan medals.
But that's not all – there’s a series of spot prizes worth more than £500, including free running shoes courtesy of Altra for select runners. The event also features an exclusive winners plaque, with the opportunity this year to have your name etched alongside last year's champion.
Registration closes at 13:30pm on race day, and the race itself starts promptly at 2:00pm from Whittaker Lane in DE21 5AE. Free parking is available for all participants who drive to the event.
