Swimmers can choose from the main 2.5km course, which spans two full widths of Llyn Brenig, starting beside the visitor center and marked by inflatable buoys for clear navigation. For those seeking an extra challenge, there is also a 5km option that involves swimming two laps around the lake. Shorter distances are available as well: a 1km swim taking participants out to the middle of the lake before turning back towards shore, and a half-mile (500m) course designed for juniors aged six and up who must be accompanied by an adult paying entry fees. Juniors between ages 12-15 can also participate in the shorter distances with mandatory wetsuits and tow floats.
