For years now, the Boiler Dash has been a tradition in the community, growing with each passing year. In its eighth edition, it is expected to attract over 500 participants who will contribute significantly to the food pantry's mission of ensuring every student at local schools can access nutritious meals. The event not only supports important causes but also strengthens the bonds within Bourbonnais through collective effort and camaraderie.
The race venue features a mix of paved streets and park paths, providing an enjoyable run that showcases the best of what downtown Bourbonnais has to offer. The 10K course winds through residential neighborhoods before heading into the city center, while the 5K offers more urban landscapes with fewer turns but just as much character.
At the start line, runners will be greeted by a modest elevation gain and a couple of aid stations offering water and snacks along the route. The finish is marked by enthusiastic volunteers who cheer on every runner crossing the line. Weather conditions are expected to remain mild throughout the race, making for an ideal running environment despite occasional gusts.
