Join us on Saturday, April 24th, for an inspiring day at The Haining in Selkirk (TD7 5LR), where the beauty of the countryside and loch will provide the backdrop to this special annual event. Celebrating the legacy of Charmian Ledsham and honoring Interest Link’s dedication to enriching lives through fun and friendship, participants can choose between a competitive trail run or an accessible scenic walk. Registration for both events begins at 8:45 am, offering ample time to socialize before the start. The 5k Trail Run kicks off promptly at 9:30 am, while the 2k/4k Walk follows suit at 10:30 am. Both routes are meticulously signposted and marshaled for a safe and enjoyable experience. For those arriving early, parking is limited near The Haining, but free spaces can be found in West Port Car Park off Selkirk Square (a short six-minute walk away). Refreshments will be available throughout the day along with accessible toilets to ensure everyone’s comfort. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottles for refills during breaks. The 5k Trail Run takes runners through rugged paths, offering a challenging yet rewarding experience amidst natural beauty. Meanwhile, walkers can enjoy a leisurely loop around the serene loch. Upon completion of either event, all participants will receive a commemorative biscuit medal to mark their achievement. In addition to the run and walk, there are opportunities for fundraising with a tombola featuring an array of fantastic prizes. Interest Link merchandise such as T-shirts and hats will also be on sale, providing another avenue for support. Donations can be made directly at the event or through other specified means detailed by Interest Link Borders.
