The Chocolate Turkey 3 Mile

On the fourth Thursday of November, 2026, Peoria's vibrant Riverfront Park hosts The Chocolate Turkey Run & Walk, an annual Thanksgiving Day celebration. This community-focused event invites families and friends to kick off their holiday season amidst picturesque river paths and bustling downtown streets.
The course begins at Riverfront Park, winding through familiar neighborhoods along Congress Street and Main Avenue before crossing the historic Douglas Street Bridge. Participants will loop back into Peoria's heart, passing by the Civic Center as they complete either a 1-mile walk or a more challenging 3-mile run. The terrain is mostly flat with gentle inclines, offering a pleasant journey through charming local landscapes.
