This unique race series, set to begin as dusk falls on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, offers runners a chance to explore the rolling hills of this iconic landscape under starlit skies.
As the sun sets over the South Downs, participants will embark on either a half marathon or the full 50k route. Both races feature looped courses that wind through runnable trails with minimal technical challenges, making them ideal for night running enthusiasts and those preparing for longer ultra-distance events. The cooler temperatures of evening provide an added layer of comfort as runners navigate the undulating terrain.
The South Downs have earned recognition as a Dark Sky Reserve since 2016, offering unparalleled stargazing opportunities that enhance the race experience with breathtaking views of the night sky. Runners will be guided by high-visibility and reflective signage along fully marked courses, ensuring safety throughout their journey.
