The Drop - Bristol

Experience The Drop — an exhilarating navigation challenge where uncertainty reigns supreme. Unlike traditional races, this unique event strips away all guidance, leaving you to find your own path back to the finish line from an undisclosed location.
Choose Your Distance:
- The 10-Mile and 15-Mile Drops: Participants are dropped at a secret location either 10 or 15 miles (as the crow flies) from the event center. With no maps, GPS, or navigation aids provided, you must rely solely on your instincts to make it back.
- The Drop 6: For those traveling from outside the area and unfamiliar with local terrain, this shorter distance offers a similar challenge but is strictly for non-locals.
Registration:
Upon signing up, entrants hand over all electronic devices, watches, and navigational aids. In exchange, you receive your race number and an emergency bag that must be carried throughout the event.
Deployment:
You board a bus with blackout blindfolds (or approved alternatives) to reach your drop location. Once off the bus, the challenge begins — no maps, directions, or assistance are available as you navigate back on foot alone.
Rules & Consequences:
- No GPS devices unless sealed in the emergency bag.
- Only authorized maps provided by The Drop may be used, if any at all.
- Breaking the seal of your emergency bag results in disqualification.
Live Tracking Option:
For an additional fee, participants can opt for live GPS tracking to share their progress with friends and family. Trackers must be returned after the event; failure to do so incurs a £175 replacement charge.
