About the Event

The Drop - Edinburgh plunges participants into an unparalleled challenge that tests their navigation skills and resilience like never before. Drawing inspiration from military techniques, this unique race takes place across the Scottish landscape near Edinburgh, offering competitors a chance to explore uncharted territories.
Upon registration, all electronic devices including smartphones and watches are relinquished in favor of a simple race number and emergency supplies provided by organizers. Participants then board a bus blindfolded, setting off on an adventure where they must rely solely on their instincts and survival skills once the blindfolds come off at the drop-off point.
The terrain is rugged, with no clear path or map to guide them back to the event center. Competitors face unpredictable weather conditions and challenging landscapes as they navigate through dense forests, over hills, and across open fields. The journey back is entirely self-directed; runners must decide whether to run swiftly towards their destination or take a more cautious approach.
The Drop - Edinburgh challenges individuals to push beyond conventional limits in an environment stripped of modern conveniences, emphasizing the importance of mental fortitude as much as physical endurance.
Competitors who successfully make it back to HQ will have experienced not just a race but a transformative journey through some of Scotland's most captivating yet demanding terrain. This event is designed for those seeking a unique and unforgettable adventure in an environment that tests every aspect of human capability.

About Edinburgh

Learn more about the host city, Edinburgh.

Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland, located in the Central Belt of the country. With a population of 526,470 in the urban area in 2021, and 901,455 in the metropolitans, Edinburgh fizzes with a cosmopolitan yet uniquely Scottish atmosphere. Old volcanoes ensure a dramatic natural setting, with the imposing castle atop one. The city combines medieval relics, Georgian grandeur and a powerful layer of modern life with contemporary avant-garde. Medieval palaces, Gothic churches and fascinating historical buildings rub shoulders with the best of modern architecture, such as the Scottish Parliament and the National Museum of Scotland. Variously dubbed "Auld Reekie" or "Athens of the North", but usually just plain "Embruh", it hosts great restaurants, shops, pubs, wild and mild clubs, and an unrivalled programme of events and festivals throughout the year.
