The Drop – Norwich challenges runners and teams alike with an unparalleled test of navigation and endurance set against an unknown backdrop. This unique race draws inspiration from military exercises, pushing participants well beyond their comfort zones.
Upon registration, entrants must relinquish all electronic devices including phones, watches, cash, and any other navigational aids. In exchange, they receive a race number and emergency supplies crucial for survival in the wilderness ahead.
The adventure begins with an unexpected twist: blindfolds are applied before participants board a bus that transports them to a secret drop-off point somewhere outside Norwich. Once released from their bindings, runners find themselves facing a daunting task – navigating back to the event center without any guidance or assistance whatsoever.
With no maps, GPS devices, routes laid out for you, or even basic tools like compasses available, every step taken becomes an exercise in self-reliance and problem-solving. Participants must rely solely on their instincts, knowledge of terrain features, and sheer determination as they chart a path through unfamiliar territory back to safety.
