Dive into an enchanting night adventure with the Plough & Harrow's festive fun run, set against the backdrop of Britain’s countryside. This self-navigated journey starts promptly at 19:00 from inside the cozy Plough & Harrow pub after collecting your race numbers from 18:30 onwards.
The route is guided by a Strava GPX track on your phone or watch, leading you through winding forest paths and expansive downlands. Participants will be supported by detailed instructions available for download from our website, ensuring no one gets lost in the dark. A tail runner sweeps behind to maintain safety throughout the course.
Essential gear includes a head torch, mobile phone with ICE contacts, and sturdy trail running shoes. The terrain is rugged with numerous hills that promise an exhilarating challenge as you navigate through varied landscapes under the moonlight.
Upon crossing the finish line, runners are greeted with festive medals and a refreshing pint or warm drink of your choice from behind the bar. For those who fancy some sustenance post-run, pre-ordering meals before starting ensures they’ll be ready upon your return to the pub’s welcoming atmosphere.
This event is more than just a race; it's an invitation to embrace the spirit of Christmas through elaborate costumes and themed outfits. The best-dressed runner will receive a special dessert on us as part of our festive judging, with penalties for those who opt out—ranging from 5 minutes down to nothing if you’ve made even a modest effort.

Participants are encouraged to take their time and enjoy the unique experience that comes with running in the dark countryside. Parking spaces are limited, so carpooling is strongly recommended for environmental friendliness.
