The eagerly anticipated race calendar now includes an unforgettable adventure set for July 11, 2026. This event, sanctioned by Athletics Ontario, promises to deliver a unique trail experience with the support of La Sportiva, who will be providing shoe demonstrations and offering two pairs as giveaways. This isn't just any ordinary run; it's a journey through Toronto’s scenic Bruce Trail, known for its challenging yet breathtaking landscapes. The 50km event is particularly noteworthy, covering approximately 51.8 kilometers from start to finish in a point-to-point format. Participants will board buses at the race finish line and travel back to Kelso Conservation Area before embarking on their trek along the Toronto Bruce Trail section. For those seeking an exhilarating challenge but with some experience under their belt, the 25km event is perfect. Spanning about 27.5 kilometers, this course will take runners through equally stunning sections of the trail, offering a manageable yet demanding route that showcases the beauty and complexity of the Bruce Trail. A shorter option awaits at 10 kilometers—perfect for those looking to experience the trail without committing to longer distances. Starting from Kelso Conservation Area, runners will traverse Hilton Falls Conservation Area, cross Sixth Line, and ascend along the escarpment before returning to their starting point through a hilly terrain rich in natural beauty. Completing any of these courses comes with rewards; all finishers receive a memorable medal, while 50km participants earn an additional Toronto Bruce Trail Club End-to-End patch. The entire race will be run on permanently marked trails, ensuring runners follow the white blazes without any added flagging, except for the final five kilometers of the 10km course. The route promises to captivate with its diverse landscapes: from Cheltenham Badlands, where ancient geological formations await, to Terra Cotta Conservation Area’s serene wetlands and streams. Silver Creek Conservation Area offers lush forests and challenging trails, while Scotsdale Heritage Farm invites exploration through its rolling fields and historical buildings. Further down the trail lies Limehouse Conservation Area, famous for its old-growth forest, unique rock formations, and a memorable walk through "The Hole in the Wall." For those who dare to venture into Speyside Resource Management Area, expect rugged terrain and wildflower displays amidst mature forests. Highlights include Dufferin Quarry Bridge’s impressive span and the opportunity to pass by where the first blaze was painted on July 1962. All participants will receive race swag including a soft-spun t-shirt (with options for unisex or women's cut), ensuring comfort throughout your journey. Parking is provided at Kelso Conservation Area, with complimentary shuttle buses available for those participating in the longer distances. This event aims to be more than just a run; it’s an experience that connects participants directly with nature and community support. With only 200 spots available, securing your spot early ensures you can embrace this small yet grassroots adventure fully.
