Freedom 50 Race | Puyallup to Enumclaw Trail Run
The Freedom 50 is an invigorating trail run that offers runners the chance to tackle either a challenging 50-mile or a more manageable yet still demanding 50K distance. Both options take place on the scenic Foothills Trail, which stretches from downtown Puyallup all the way up to Enumclaw’s edge.
The course is known for its flat and fast terrain, with no major climbs or technical sections that might slow runners down. Instead, it offers a smooth paved path where participants can focus on maintaining their rhythm and pushing their limits. The first half of both distances features a gentle incline that gradually builds up endurance without being overly taxing, while the second half provides a welcome downhill return to Puyallup.
Aid stations are strategically placed throughout the route to ensure runners have access to essential supplies such as water, snacks, and medical support. These fully stocked checkpoints can be found eight times for 50-mile participants and four stops for those running the shorter distance. The turnaround point is located at Buckley’s Memorial Park near the Veterans Monument, providing a perfect spot for mental reset before heading back towards Puyallup.
The generous 15-hour cutoff time allows runners to set their own pace without worrying about missing crucial deadlines, making it an ideal event for both first-time ultrarunners looking to dip their toes into longer distances and seasoned athletes aiming for personal bests. The supportive race community further enhances the experience, with sponsors like Diamond Detail offering exclusive rewards such as gift certificates and free crossfit classes.

Registration for both distances includes access to fully supported aid stations, unique custom finisher's medals upon completion, and opportunities to secure free entry into next year’s event based on top finishes. The first 50 sign-ups will also receive complimentary T-shirts while supplies last.

The event starts and finishes at Diamond Detail, located at 412 E Main Ave in Puyallup, WA 98372. Aid station locations are spread across McMillin, Crocker, South Prairie, and Buckley with a notable turnaround point near the Veterans Memorial Monument adjacent to 251 S River Rd, Buckley, WA 98321.
Packet pickup will be available on race day only starting at 6:00 AM. The race officially begins at 7:00 AM sharp, followed by generous cutoff times ensuring safety and support for all participants until the last runner crosses the finish line no later than 10 PM.
