Experience the breathtaking beauty of North Lake Tahoe at The Great Ski Race® on March 7, 2027. This year's race offers two exhilarating course options: the traditional 26km route and an exciting new 10km option. The 26km route promises a challenging yet rewarding day with stunning views of Lake Tahoe as you navigate around Mt. Watson. Skiers will enjoy varied terrain, including undulating trails that offer diverse scenery throughout your journey. For those seeking a shorter adventure without compromising on the fun and challenge, the 10km course is perfect. It stays lower in elevation, providing a more gentle yet picturesque route through the Tahoe Cross Country Center. Both courses begin and conclude at the Tahoe Cross Country Center in Tahoe City, CA. The race offers a unique opportunity to support Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue while enjoying the natural beauty of one of California's most scenic regions. Post-race festivities include a lively finish line celebration featuring food and live music, ensuring that all participants can unwind and celebrate their efforts after crossing the finish line. For those who wish to take on The Great Ski Race® at their own pace without timing or competition, there’s the Tour Wave. Participants in this wave must self-start between 7:30am and 7:45am from the Tahoe Cross Country Center (TXC) and are limited to the first 35 registrants. This is a fantastic option for skiers who want to enjoy the course and festive atmosphere without aiming for a podium finish. Race day registration fees increase, so early bird pricing is highly recommended: - Adult: $80 until January 11 - Under 18: $45 until January 11 Fees rise as follows: - Adult: $100 from January 12 to February 15 - Under 18: $55 from January 12 to February 15 On the final registration dates: - Adult: $115 on February 16 and 27 - Under 18: $65 on February 16 and 27 Race day, March 1st, fees are higher at: - Adult: $140 - Under 18: $90 Register early to secure your spot in one of the largest Nordic ski races west of the Mississippi. The Great Ski Race® is a key fundraiser for Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue Team, an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to winter survival and avalanche education. See you on Sunday, March 7!
