On Saturday, September 26th, 2026, runners and walkers are invited to explore Dorset’s stunning countryside through the Fleet & Feet Trail. This annual event offers three distances: a challenging 10k, half marathon, or full marathon course that winds its way across undulating terrain almost entirely off-road. The race begins and concludes at Bagwell Farm Touring Park, with routes leading along The Fleet Lagoon before venturing onto national trails and bridlepaths. Competitors can expect scenic views of Dorset’s natural beauty throughout the journey. While well-signposted, participants may need to engage in some self-navigation as they make their way through this picturesque landscape. New for 2026 is a marathon relay option where teams of up to four members can compete together and a designated category for canicross enthusiasts who wish to run with their dogs by their side. The OS Map #15 (Purbeck and South Dorset) provides invaluable assistance in navigating the course. For safety reasons, all full marathon participants must reach Hardy’s Monument checkpoint by 12:45 PM to ensure they have sufficient time to complete the second half within a strict 10-hour cutoff. Relay teams are responsible for coordinating their own transportation between relay legs. The Fleet & Feet Trail is more than just an athletic challenge; it's also a significant fundraiser, with all proceeds going towards local charities and non-profit organizations that support essential community services. Participants can contribute to this cause through sponsorship or by making a single donation upon registration. This event promises not only a rewarding physical experience but also the opportunity to give back to Dorset’s vibrant communities.
