The Legacy Trail Ultra

The Legacy Trail Ultra 60K presents runners with an exhilarating challenge along the scenic Legacy trail near Sarasota. As part of the Manasota Track Club's annual series, this fifth installment offers participants a unique opportunity to experience the beauty and solitude of Florida’s coastal landscape.
Starting at Payne Park in the heart of Sarasota, the race follows a straightforward out-and-back route that stretches for 39 miles (60 kilometers). Runners will head south along the Legacy trail before turning around halfway through. The course does not close any roads but relies on limited aid stations to keep runners fueled and hydrated throughout their journey.
With an ambitious cutoff time of just under ten hours, this event demands a blend of endurance and strategic pacing from its competitors. Participants should expect challenging terrain that tests both physical stamina and mental fortitude as they traverse the trail’s varied landscapes.
Registration for the Legacy Trail Ultra 60K is free, making it accessible to all runners looking to push their limits on one of Florida's most picturesque routes. Race packets can be picked up at Fleet Feet Sarasota from November 21st between 3 and 5pm, located at 711 S Osprey Ave #1.
