Join us at Whitney Commons in Sheridan for The Link – Partners in Pink on Saturday, October 17th. This annual run aims to raise funds and awareness for the Welch Cancer Center (WCC) at Sheridan Memorial Hospital (SMH), a vital resource that provides compassionate care and support to patients facing cancer. The event offers both an in-person race and a virtual option, ensuring everyone can participate regardless of their location or schedule. The in-person race starts promptly at 10 am with distances ranging from the challenging 5K to the more relaxed but equally rewarding 10K routes. Both courses wind through scenic pathways around Whitney Commons, offering runners stunning views of fall foliage and a chance to enjoy crisp autumn air. Participants who sign up for the virtual race can run or walk their chosen distance anytime between October 1st and October 18th, allowing flexibility in scheduling your activity according to personal preferences. Whether you're running on local trails, at home on a treadmill, or with friends around your neighborhood, every step counts towards supporting cancer care. Race day festivities include pre-race packet pickup from 9 am onwards right by the race start line for those joining us physically. On Friday, October 16th between 3 pm and 6 pm, runners can also pick up their packets at Sheridan Memorial Hospital's cafeteria if they prefer a head-start on event preparations. T-shirts will be available for both in-person participants who register before the cut-off date and virtual runners who choose to collect them. Be sure to wear your shirt proudly as you contribute towards this meaningful cause! For those unable to attend race day, feel free to take part remotely via our dedicated app or manually submit results through ITS YOUR RACE (IYR) website. Detailed instructions on how to upload times and photos are provided online.
