Since its inception in 2013, the Maldives LONGRUN has emerged as one of the most exhilarating endurance events on the island nation's calendar. Organized by Total Fitness Group (TfG), this year’s edition promises an unparalleled race experience set to captivate both seasoned runners and newcomers alike. In 2026, participants will be greeted with a new Race Village located inside Hulhumalé Running Track, offering easy access to the start and finish lines. The course itself is designed for maximum scenic appeal and efficiency, featuring two picturesque bridges that add charm and challenge to the route. Runners can expect nearly 2 kilometers of exhilarating running through the vibrant Phase 2 area of Hulhumalé. The marathon distance (42.2km) begins at a brisk 2:00am on race day, allowing participants to tackle the course under cooler conditions before temperatures rise later in the morning. The run starts with two laps around the track followed by six loops through a meticulously crafted 6.9-kilometer circuit that showcases Hulhumalé’s unique landscape and infrastructure. For those looking for a more manageable challenge, the half marathon (21.1km) kicks off at 3:00am, featuring one lap on the running track before embarking upon three loops of the same scenic course as the full marathoners. Meanwhile, the 10K and 5K events commence later in the morning, starting at 6:00am and 7:00am respectively, offering a shared section that highlights the bridges and Phase 2 area. All race categories benefit from comprehensive hydration stations along the course to ensure runners stay well-hydrated throughout their journey. The looped design of the route ensures clear navigation for first-time participants while providing seasoned athletes with opportunities to chase personal bests in this fast, structured environment. Race pack collection will take place at Ma. Haivakaruge, Dhamburuh Magu, Male’ from November 28th to December 2nd, 2025 (morning hours), and on the morning of December 3rd for those arriving later in the week. For international runners looking to experience this unique event firsthand, Hulhumalé offers a range of accommodation options. The race bib collection point is conveniently located near Male’, connected by a bridge that allows easy access from hotels within both areas. Participants can also opt to stay in one of the many city hotels or resorts nearby. Post-race relaxation and exploration await those who complete this challenging event, with opportunities for island hopping, beachside retreats, and cultural experiences that showcase the Maldives' rich heritage and natural beauty. Whether you're an avid marathoner seeking a new personal best or someone looking to challenge yourself in a picturesque setting, the 2026 Maldives LONGRUN promises an unforgettable experience.

About Malé
Learn more about the host city, Malé.
Malé (މާލެ), pronounced Maa-leh, is the capital of Maldives. The city occupies the entire islet of Malé at the southern rim of North Malé Atoll. Malé is occasionally dismissed by travellers as a mere transit point with "nothing to do", and it is indeed not a party place. However, it does have a distinctive character of its own, with narrow streets, colourful houses and a strong communal feel, and it may be interesting to stop a little longer and soak in the atmosphere if you've got time on your hands.
