Our Mission: The Mathew Forbes Romer Foundation’s Mission is to promote and lead critical awareness, testing, counseling, and research initiatives that hold promise for the prevention and eventual cure of fatal children’s genetic diseases of the brain.
MFRF has provided leadership and raised approximately $3 million of funding for projects spanning its mission and vision across three pillars: Research of Treatments and Cures, Education and Genetic Screening, and care through Nursing School Educational programs.
MFRF has celebrated wonderful progress in gene therapy patient trials, education, and genetic testing for many affected children and families with fatal genetic diseases of the brain. Still, there is so much more to do, including earlier detection and expanding treatment availability.
So on January 11th 2026 we will run and walk to raise community awareness as well as much needed funds for this project.

The Sleep In Option is for those of you who want to support the charity but can't attend the actual event! Your shirt and finisher medal will be mailed to you! It's the honor system to do the 5k at some point. This option is not eligible for awards! You don't need to submit your time.
Shirts: Shirts will be a Dry-Fit type shirt.
Awards: Awards will be M/F Overall, M/F under 10, 10-14, 15-19 & then 10 year groups to 80+
Packet Pick Up: Dates Coming Soon! Runner's Edge: 3195 N. Federal Hwy, Boca Raton - 561-361-1950 Store hours. Monday - Friday 10-6, Thursday 10-7, Saturday 10-5 or Sunday 11-4 You can also pick up your stuff race morning at the event starting at 6:30-7:10am. You can pick up bibs for the other people in your group, as well!
