The Maypole Project Chislehurst Half Marathon & 10k
About the Event
In its tenth year, the Chislehurst Green Spaces Race invites runners to explore and celebrate the lush greenery where London meets the countryside. This half marathon and 10k event not only offers stunning scenery but also supports The Maypole Project, a local charity providing vital psychological support for families dealing with complex medical conditions affecting young members. Scheduled for Sunday, May 16th at 10:00 AM in Chislehurst, Greater London, the race features two new routes this year. Both courses wind through the historic parks and commons of Chislehurst, offering a mix of flat and undulating terrain that highlights the area's natural beauty. The half marathon route covers approximately 21 kilometers, while the newly added 10k option spans about 10 kilometers. Runners will experience rich history as they traverse paths lined with ancient trees and picturesque commons. Both routes are designed to be more accessible than previous editions, making it easier for participants to navigate through the scenic green spaces of Chislehurst. All race profits go directly to The Maypole Project, which offers family-centered emotional support to over 1,000 families in Kent and South London who have a child or young person diagnosed with complex medical needs. This charity supports not only the ill/disabled child but also siblings, parents, grandparents, and other family members throughout their journey. Participants can choose between a standard entry fee or opt for a HEROES ticket that includes an additional £5 donation to The Maypole Project. Each finisher will receive a bespoke anniversary medal celebrating this milestone event, while leading runners in both distances are awarded trophies and prizes. With its scenic routes, rich history, and meaningful cause, the Chislehurst Green Spaces Race promises an unforgettable experience for all participants. For those interested in detailed route maps or GPX files, these can be viewed and downloaded from the race website. On-the-day entry fees remain at £35 for the half marathon and £30 for the 10k event, subject to availability. Event information will be sent out prior to race day to all registered participants.
