Introducing the Midwest Ultra Trail Classic, an exhilarating trail running experience set within the picturesque Knob Noster State Park near Knob Noster, Missouri. This inaugural race offers runners of all levels a chance to explore one of Missouri's most scenic and challenging trails – the Opossum Hollow Trail. Competitors can choose from five distinct distances: 10K, 20K, 30K, 40K, or 50K, each built around a single-track loop that winds through dense forests. The course is known for its technical terrain featuring winding trails, rolling hills, rocky sections, and creek crossings. Each lap includes approximately 550 feet of elevation gain, providing runners with a challenging yet rewarding experience. All participants start together at the same time and return to the Start/Finish area every 10 kilometers where they can access fully stocked aid stations, personal coolers, and gear left at the starting line by their support crew. The event is designed for convenience, eliminating the need for drop bags or pacers on course. Highlights of the Midwest Ultra Trail Classic include: - A loop course that showcases the best single-track trail running in Missouri. - Multiple loops allowing runners to push themselves over various distances and terrains. - Full race-day support at the Start/Finish area with access every 10 kilometers. - Crew assistance permitted only at the starting line, enhancing safety and convenience.
