The MTC Thames Challenge 2026

The Thames Challenge is an epic four-day endurance race spanning 184 miles, designed for runners who thrive on the ultimate test of physical and mental resilience. As part of the Challenger Series, this multi-stage event serves as a stepping stone to Notorious, one of the most revered races in the series.
Each day brings its own unique challenge with three distinct ultramarathons: The Cotswold Ultra, The Oxford Ultra, The Windsor Ultra, and The Richmond Ultra. These stages not only showcase diverse landscapes but also offer runners an intimate connection with some of England's most picturesque settings along the River Thames.
Participants must be fully self-sufficient throughout the event, carrying all necessary gear to ensure their safety and well-being on each leg of the journey. This includes a backpack or equivalent, a head torch equipped with spare batteries for night running, an OS map or downloadable maps provided by organizers, a compass or GPS device, a whistle for emergency signaling, a mobile phone, and a first aid kit.
