The Osprey Trail Run

Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Port St. Lucie at the 2026 Osprey Trail Race, set for September 19th at The Oxbow Eco Center. This scenic race offers runners a unique opportunity to explore diverse trails while supporting environmental education.
The event features two distances: a challenging 25k starting at 7:00 am and an accessible 8k beginning at 8:00 am, both originating from the eco-friendly parking lot adjacent to the Eco Center. Participants will traverse through various trail systems including Heritage Trail, Gopher Trail, Blue Heron Trail, Spoon Bill Trail, Scrub Jay (be prepared for some mud!), Racoon and Otter Trail.
The Oxbow Preserve trails are open sunrise to sunset daily, offering runners a chance to experience nature at its finest. The preserve covers 225 acres along the North Fork of the St Lucie River, managed by St. Lucie County’s Environmental Resources Department with support from the South Florida Water Management District and Save Our Rivers funding.
To ensure minimal environmental impact, this race is cup-less; runners are encouraged to bring their own water containers such as a handheld bottle or hydration vest. The Oxbow Eco Center provides trail maps at the starting point for easy navigation through its extensive network of trails designed to protect native plants and wildlife while offering visitors an immersive experience.
Race day parking will be guided by volunteers who will help runners squeeze into tight spaces along the canal easement, ensuring everyone has a spot close to the start line. Packet pickup details are yet to be announced but will include ample opportunities for participants to collect their race materials before the event.
Proceeds from this race support Oxbow Eco Center’s environmental education programs, fostering community engagement and learning about nature conservation in Port St. Lucie. For those interested in contributing further, a donation option is available during registration.
