The Ride Series MTB Skills Clinics: Minneapolis September 19/20
About the Event
Experience the thrill of mastering mountain biking techniques at our comprehensive MTB Essentials course. Designed specifically for intermediate riders, this session delves into essential skills and knowledge to enhance your riding experience on trails. Upon arrival, participants will first engage in a classroom setting where key topics are covered, including bike setup—adjusting controls, suspension settings, tire pressure—and body positioning for optimal performance. Hydration strategies and nutrition during rides are also discussed. Moving outside, coaches will guide you through practical techniques such as maintaining proper body position, efficient pumping of your tires, dynamic braking to maintain speed control, effective turning on varied terrain, and introductions to basic jumps like drops and lifts. The structured format ensures that each participant receives personalized feedback from experienced instructors who have years of real-world riding experience. Attendees will leave with a significant boost in confidence and enjoyment while navigating the trails. This course is not suitable for beginners; ensure you have some trail experience before enrolling. Reach out if you're uncertain about your readiness for MTB Essentials. For those looking to advance beyond basics, our MTB Progression builds on these foundational skills. It covers rider-specific control setups, in-depth suspension adjustments, and a detailed progression through turning techniques across different surfaces, drop heights, lift challenges, and jumping exercises. Jumping sessions focus on getting comfortable airborne by understanding the necessary technique for takeoff. Coaches with over 70 years of combined experience will provide personalized guidance using slow-motion video analysis to refine your approach. Participants must have previous jump experience, full suspension bikes in working order, and appropriate safety gear including pads; a full-face helmet is recommended but not required. This course guarantees an immersive learning environment that accelerates skill development through numerous repetitions on specially designed jump lines. Coaches maintain a low-to-rider ratio to ensure individualized attention during each exercise. If you're ready for the next level in mountain biking, this progression class awaits! Remember, experience and proper preparation are key prerequisites for both MTB Essentials and Progression classes.
