The River Run

Following an overwhelmingly successful debut in 2025, this race has evolved to offer runners a smoother, more enjoyable experience.
The event begins at Adur Recreation Ground in Shoreham-by-Sea and takes you on a scenic journey through some of England's most stunning landscapes. Starting with a loop around the recreation ground, runners will then head down towards Shoreham Airport before crossing the Toll Bridge onto the Downs Link path. This section offers wide and smooth pathways that wind their way to Upper Beeding, where you'll encounter the newly built bridge – a testament to the area’s commitment to enhancing runner experiences.
From there, the route takes an intriguing turn into the charming town of Bramber, passing behind its historic castle before crossing back over the river for the final leg. This loop not only showcases the rich history and natural beauty of the region but also ensures that runners experience a mix of flat terrain ideal for fast times.
Runners will be divided into waves to maintain smooth flow throughout the course without any undue congestion, ensuring everyone has an enjoyable race day. The event is part of "The South Coast Series," marking its place as the final leg in this series.
Organizers have spared no effort in creating a runner-friendly environment with accurately measured routes marked by UK Athletics standards and fully stocked aid stations along the way. These stations offer runners gels, fruits, and other essential refreshments to keep energy levels high throughout the race. Upon crossing the finish line in Adur Recreation Ground, participants will be greeted by a marquee offering complimentary drinks and snacks.
