The ROCKS 5 Miler

Experience the vibrant autumn spirit at our annual 5-mile Run and 2-mile Walk on Saturday, September 19th, starting from Jones Point Park in Alexandria. This beloved tradition welcomes runners and walkers of all ages to explore the scenic Mount Vernon Trail, offering breathtaking views along the Potomac River.
Participants should arrive early to ensure a smooth start; check-in opens at 6:45 am with bib distribution until 7:30 am. The run begins promptly at 8:00 am, followed by the walk at 8:10 am. Along the way, water stations will be available at both the 1-mile and 2.5-mile marks to keep everyone hydrated.
This event is not only a celebration of fitness but also an opportunity for community engagement, as it’s sponsored by the Washington DC Chapter of ROCKS—a mentoring group dedicated to Army leaders. RacePacket Inc., known for their reliable timing systems, will manage this year's race operations.
