Dive into the inaugural STAR Backyard Trail Event series with us, kicking off in the charming village of Peaslake. This unique trail run promises an evening filled with scenic routes and friendly competition as part of our trio of events scheduled for this autumn. The event unfolds from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday, November 27th, 2026, giving runners three hours to navigate a picturesque loop around Peaslake. Each lap measures exactly 5 kilometers and participants will aim to complete as many laps as possible within the timeframe. No need for electronic timing here; simply grab your race number and collect wristbands after each successful circuit. New this year is an exciting team challenge, inviting groups of three runners to take part in a relay-style event. Each member runs one lap before passing off to their teammate, ensuring that every participant gets equal time on the trail. The winning team will be determined by both total laps completed and overall fastest cumulative time for teams tied at the same number of circuits. The course begins and ends at Peaslake Village Hall, with runners heading clockwise through Walking Bottom Car Park before ascending gently up to Pitch Hill over a distance of about 2 kilometers. After reaching the peak, it’s mostly downhill back towards the village hall where participants can mark off their lap and prepare for another round if time allows. As this is an evening event, all competitors are required to bring headlamps or flashlights to navigate the trail safely in low light conditions. The race atmosphere will be enhanced by free parking at Walking Bottom Car Park and nearby locations, ensuring easy access without causing any inconvenience to local residents. Entry fees include refreshments for both individual runners (£20) and teams of three (£50), providing a well-deserved treat after the event or during breaks between laps. The top male and female finishers will receive special prizes as recognition for their efforts, while each member of the winning team also gets an award. Join us in Peaslake to experience this unique trail run that combines scenic beauty with spirited competition under starlit skies. Don't miss out on what promises to be a memorable evening of running through Surrey's countryside. For more detailed information leading up to race day, participants will receive a pre-race email two days prior to the event start date.
