Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty and challenging terrain of the Peak District National Park with Trails For Good’s upcoming race. Partnering once again with local favorites like Errwood Sailing Club, Forest Distillery, and Hot Chocolaterie, this event offers runners a memorable experience across two distinct routes: 10km (325m elevation) and 17km (505m elevation). The journey begins at the tranquil shores of Errwood Reservoir before ascending to the majestic Cat & Fiddle Inn. Here, participants are rewarded with breathtaking views stretching far into the horizon as they reach this iconic summit. What sets this race apart is a unique pause where runners can step inside the Cat & Fiddle Inn for 10 minutes, courtesy of Forest Distillery’s VIP aid station. Enjoy refreshments and celebrate your climb before heading back out to continue on the trails. For those tackling the longer route, after leaving the inn, you’ll ascend Cheshire's highest point with panoramic views over the Dark Peak and beyond to Manchester, the Forest of Bowland, and the Clwydian Range. Shorter course runners will enjoy a satisfying descent towards Errwood Reservoir, leading them straight into the finish line. Upon completing your run, return to race HQ where you’ll be greeted with complimentary treats from both Forest Distillery and Hot Chocolaterie—luxury chocolates that perfectly complement your hard-earned efforts on the trails. By participating in this event, runners contribute not only to their own achievement but also support local food and drink producers as well as trail repair and nature regeneration initiatives through Trails For Good’s partnership with the Peak District Foundation. Additionally, all entries made before July 31st will include a £2 donation from your entry fee directly supporting the Wildfire Appeal of the Peak District Foundation. For safety and comfort on race day, mandatory kit requirements are in place—details can be found on our website. Join us for an unforgettable adventure through one of England’s most stunning landscapes!

About Errwood Reservoir
Learn more about the host city, Errwood Reservoir.
Errwood Reservoir is a drinking-water reservoir in the Peak District National Park, within the county of Derbyshire and very close to the boundary with Cheshire. The reservoir was the second of two reservoirs built in the Goyt Valley, the other one being Fernilee Reservoir. It was authorised by the Stockport Corporation Act 1930 (20 & 21 Geo. 5. c. clxix) and constructed by the Stockport Corporation Waterworks at a cost of £1.5 million, with work being completed in 1967; it is currently owned and operated by United Utilities. The reservoir provides drinking water for the town of Stockport and its surrounding areas, and it holds 4,215 million litres (1.113×109 US gal) of water.
