The Trident Trail Races

The Trident Trail Races returns to Jupiter, Florida on Saturday, July 25-26, 2026 for its eighth year as a unique endurance event featuring multiple race options along the sugar sand dunes of coastal southeast Florida during one of the hottest times of the year. The races attract participants from across various fitness levels and interests, offering everything from an EZ half marathon to a gargantuan 102-mile ultramarathon challenge. This year’s lineup includes Ciento Dos, A Series of Unfortunate 5Ks, IMMOLATION, The Nooner - Half Marathon, and The Twilight Trident - Night Half.
The races take place on the challenging trails that wind through Jupiter's coastal dunes, known for their hard and dry surface conditions, making each step a test not just of physical endurance but also mental fortitude. Participants can expect to encounter stretches of steep inclines and declines as well as areas with loose sand underfoot, adding an extra layer of difficulty to the already strenuous heat. The trails are lined with native flora and fauna, offering glimpses into Jupiter's unique coastal environment.
Each year, runners gather at 1800 South US Highway 1 in Jupiter for what has become a celebrated tradition among endurance athletes looking to push their limits against both nature’s challenges and each other’s competitive spirits. The Trident Trail Races have grown from its origins as the original half marathon into an event that caters to all types of runners, with varying distances and formats designed to test different aspects of one's abilities under extreme conditions.
The course for the various races in the Trident series is set along a trail loop measuring 3.1 miles per lap, which participants will traverse multiple times depending on their chosen race distance. For example, Ciento Dos requires runners to complete over thirty laps while A Series of Unfortunate 5Ks allows competitors to run anywhere from one to ten loops within the allotted time frame. The start and finish line are located at 1800 South US Highway 1, with aid stations placed approximately every two miles along the route where water and sports drinks will be available.
On race day, temperatures in Jupiter typically hover around an average of 28.2 degrees Celsius, ranging from a minimum of 24.8 to a maximum of 31.6 degrees, which can feel slightly warmer due to humidity levels averaging at 80%. The UV index reaches very high ratings (9.6), and there is a small chance of precipitation with an expected rainfall amounting to approximately 5.6 millimeters over the duration of the race day. Participants are advised to wear appropriate clothing for heat training, including lightweight breathable materials.
