Wetherby Wheel Cycle Sportive – A Springtime Ride Through Yorkshire's Countryside
Join the Wetherby Wheel Cycle Sportive on Saturday, April 3rd, 2027, as you pedal through the picturesque landscapes of Yorkshire. This event starts and finishes at Bramham Park in LS23 6LT, offering cyclists both novice and experienced a chance to explore some of England's most beautiful countryside.
Riders can choose between two routes designed for different levels: the 60km route is ideal for first-time participants, while the more challenging 100km option caters to those with greater experience. Both courses wind through charming Yorkshire towns like Wetherby, Thorner, Boston Spa, and Tadcaster.
The event adheres strictly to cycling regulations; helmets are mandatory and all riders must follow The Highway Code throughout their journey. Fully signed routes ensure that participants stay on track as they enjoy the scenic views and rolling hills of the region.
Feed stations along both routes provide essential refreshments including water, energy gels, bananas, chocolate, and sweets, helping cyclists maintain their stamina during the ride. Start times are flexible between 7:30am and 8:30am to accommodate various preferences for pacing and comfort.
Upon crossing the finish line at Bramham Park, all participants will receive a commemorative medal and merchandise from Wild Deer as well as snacks and drinks to celebrate their achievement.
Due to safety regulations on open roads, riders must be at least 17 years old to participate. On-site parking is available for £3 per vehicle, but car sharing is encouraged among friends or fellow cyclists to reduce costs and environmental impact.
