The Wild Wolf of Radnor

Dive into the heart of Mid Wales for the "Wild Wolf of Radnor" trail race, set to take place on Sunday, August 23rd, 2026. This challenging yet rewarding course covers 10 miles through the breathtaking Radnor forest, where legend has it that the last wolf in Wales was shot.
The event begins with a gentle descent into lush forestry roads and open moorland, setting the stage for an exhilarating journey. As you progress, prepare to tackle varied terrains including muddy single-track paths winding through dense woodland. The race route offers stunning panoramic views of iconic Welsh landscapes such as the Brecon Beacons, Cadair Idris, and the Long Mynd.
A significant highlight is reaching Black Mixen at an elevation of 2130 feet above sea level, where you'll be rewarded with breathtaking vistas before descending through the forest. The final mile-long stretch offers a thrilling fast descent to the finish line, making for an unforgettable race experience.
Participants will enjoy chip timing and fully marked routes ensuring a seamless run. Two water stations along the way provide essential hydration stops throughout your journey. Upon crossing the finish line, runners can look forward to receiving a special finisher's coaster as a memento of their achievement.
