The Crazy Legs Race Series begins its annual journey at 8:00 am Central Time on a crisp morning, with all distances set to conclude by midnight. The race spans from dawn until dusk across the picturesque landscapes of Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties in Northwest Indiana. Participants will navigate through a terrain marked by the famous "Roller Coaster" hills, providing both thrilling ascents and exhilarating descents that test their endurance and resilience. This challenging course design ensures an unforgettable runner experience amidst nature's beauty. Upon crossing the finish line, all runners are rewarded with limited edition t-shirts, along with either winter hats and gloves or a cowboy hat—depending on your preference. For those who push themselves to complete 30k, there’s added excitement: they receive hand-made wooden finishing medals that serve as unique keepsakes of their achievement. The race series extends its warm welcome to all participants, regardless of gender identity, ensuring an inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels supported and valued. Transgender runners are encouraged to register according to the gender with which they identify, requiring no additional documentation. Crazy Legs Race Series acknowledges the land on which it holds these events as seized territory historically belonging to the Miami, Shawnee, and Illinois Nations. It also recognizes other refugee communities that once called this area home, including the Lenape (Delaware). The race organizers honor those who have stewarded this land for generations. Experience a low-key yet challenging event where every runner’s effort is celebrated in an atmosphere of camaraderie and respect. Join us as we celebrate running through nature's diverse landscapes while promoting non-pavement races in Northwest Indiana.
