About the Event

Langley Research and Development Park hosts its annual cycling loop race, offering both one-day enthusiasts and series participants an opportunity to test their skills. The course measures exactly .75 miles and presents two wide 90-degree turns that provide ample challenges for riders of all levels. Notably repaved in 2020, the track ensures a smooth ride with excellent speed potential.
The race takes place at 121 Floyd Thompson Blvd, Hampton, VA 23666. On-site signage will guide participants and spectators to designated parking areas; please adhere strictly to these instructions for event safety and organization.
Registration is open online until Saturday, July 11th, by 8 PM on BikeReg.com. Day-of registration commences at 7:15 AM with an entry fee of $40, reducing to just $20 if you plan to participate in a second race. Entry fees include the necessary USAC and VCA BAR licenses.
For those competing within the Virginia Cycling Association (VCA) series, pre-registration is mandatory for Series Winners who wish to secure their reduced rate of $7.00; email the promoter with your category details to qualify. Additionally, promoters in the VCA series are eligible under these terms.
USA Cycling license holders can race the State Championship event, but must ensure they have a current annual license and list Virginia as their state of residence on it for eligibility towards winning this championship title. One-day licenses will be available for purchase at the venue if needed.
Beginners looking to start or renew their cycling credentials may buy one-day or annual USA Cycling licenses directly from the race site, ensuring that experienced riders can focus solely on racing. Licenses from other countries are not accepted; make sure you have a valid USAC license in place before competing.
Complying with all USAC rules is essential, including mandatory ANSI Z90.4 approved helmets for any ride on or near the course and no use of aero bars during mass start races. Cat 5 (Novice) riders are not permitted to join Masters races. Despite weather conditions, events will proceed rain or shine unless severe weather poses significant safety concerns.
