About the Event

Experience the charm of Frenchburg, Kentucky as you participate in Tour De French, an exciting USA Cycling and INKY Cycling sanctioned road race. The picturesque town, nestled near Cave Run Lake, offers more than just a thrilling cycling adventure; it presents a vibrant day filled with local entertainment.
The course begins on Main Street, quickly leading cyclists onto Beaver Dam Road where the route meanders along the southern edge of the lake, offering stunning views and a gentle incline to Dan Ridge. Once you reach this scenic summit, prepare for a fast descent back into town, lined with twisty rollers that challenge your skills.
For novice categories and casual participants, one lap is sufficient; however, more experienced cyclists will tackle two laps. Detailed Strava routes are provided for both the single-lap short course and double-lap long course:

Post-race, savor the local cuisine at Bluegrass Caribbean Chefs' food truck. While registration is free for the kids race on Back Street following the adult event, this culinary treat will require a small fee.
Awards await top three finishers in each category with at least three participants. For categories with fewer than ten registrants, riders may combine to ensure larger group starts and competitive racing.
Safety remains paramount. The start/finish area is fully closed off; however, other sections are open roads where cyclists must adhere to traffic laws. Marshals will be stationed at key turns, ensuring your safety while a neutral support van offers assistance for major mechanical issues or rides back to the finish line. For emergencies, always have your phone on hand and call 911.
Tour De French is part of the Kentucky Road Racing Series and USAC-sanctioned event, making it an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills and compete against fellow cyclists.

Frenchburg is a home rule-class city in Menifee County, Kentucky, in the United States. The population was 601 at the 2020 census, up from 486 in 2010. It is the seat and only incorporated city in its rural county. It is located at the junction of U.S. Route 460 and Kentucky Route 36. Logging is the primary industry.
