The Tour De Glaze offers an exhilarating cross-country mountain biking experience with a unique twist that will keep you on your toes. This race challenges both novices and seasoned riders alike, offering multiple categories to cater to all skill levels. Registration kicks off at 7:00 am sharp, followed by the race start at 7:30 am. Awards are presented promptly at 10:00 am, ensuring a swift transition from competition to celebration. For beginners, one lap awaits; more experienced riders can choose between two or three laps in the Sport and Expert categories respectively. E-Bike enthusiasts also have their own category with three laps to conquer. Each lap includes a challenging climb on "Ground Control," a 1-mile ascent that gains approximately 650 feet per loop. Once atop, cyclists descend onto "Trail Forest 1," the longest green run in the course, providing an adrenaline-fueled descent through winding trails and scenic views. The total distance of each lap is around 2.5 miles, offering a balanced mix of climbs and descents to test your endurance and skill. A special feature at Tour De Glaze is its donut station, strategically placed next to the MSS building. Riders must consume an entire donut before they can begin their race, adding a fun element that promises both sustenance and a competitive edge. The event also rewards participants with top honors for male and female categories in age groups under 18 and over 18. The first 30 finishers will receive a branded coffee mug as a token of appreciation for their efforts on the trail. Join us at Tour De Glaze to experience the thrill of mountain biking, enjoy stunning scenery, and partake in a unique tradition that combines athletic competition with culinary indulgence.
