The inaugural Tour de Lincoln was held May 2002, sponsored by the Lincoln Volunteer Center, beginning as a benefit bike ride, and growing to over 600 cyclists participating. The Tour offers a wonderful day of riding the scenic back roads of Lincoln and South Placer County. Great updated routes this year! The ride is fee based and includes a continental breakfast, well stocked rest stops, SAG and mechanical support along the routes. There is a great post-ride BBQ lunch with beer and wine available.
The event was taken over by Rotary Club of Lincoln in 2018 with proceeds to be used to support our club's charitable projects. The 24th annual event will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The Tour offers four courses: 10k route (~6.8 miles), Metric Quarter Century (~16 miles), Metric Half Century (~32 miles), and a Metric Century (~62 miles).
Metric Century: Ride through beautiful oak covered hills passing by horse ranches, old wooden barns, country estates, and lush vineyards. Climb challenging Chili Hill, Baxter Grade, and picturesque Millerton Road, while enjoying three well-stocked rest stops run by local service clubs. Total climbing 4,076 feet.
Metric Half Century: A beautiful ride winding through the hills and horse ranches of rural Lincoln. Beautiful valley views and gentle climbs (1,255 feet of vertical gain). A rest stop will be provided at historic Mt Pleasant Hall.
Metric Quarter Century: A nearly flat loop through rural Lincoln with a rest stop at Mt Pleasant Hall.
10k Route: a nearly flat loop through rural Lincoln
Helmets are required for all riders! Riders must obey all traffic laws and be courteous to other vehicles using the road. All riders mush sign a liability waiver.
This is a ride, not a race. It will be held rain or shine and there are no refunds. Riders should carry spare tube or patch kit, tools, water bottle and identification.
Non-rider activities include shopping in Historic Downtown Lincoln, local beer and wine tasting, McBean Park playground, and two beautiful public golf courses within 2 miles.
Electric bikes are allowed on all courses.
