On the third Sunday of October, gravel enthusiasts and road cyclists alike gather for the annual Unpaved Tour. This event, which began in 2021, runs concurrently with the prestigious 27-year-old paved Tour de Shunk Century ride. The longest route offers a challenging 70-mile journey through State Game Lands and Loyalsock State Forest, providing breathtaking views of rolling hills and dense forests. For those seeking less distance but still looking for an exhilarating experience, two additional routes are available: a 50-mile option and the new addition this year—a 30-mile route. All routes feature unpaved roads suitable for 'Cross bikes with tires measuring at least 28+. Mountain bikes are permitted but not required. Participants can register online via Bikereg.com. The event, held rain or shine, includes food and drink rest stops along the way, ensuring that riders stay fueled during their journey. SAG vehicles will also be on hand to provide support as needed. After completing your ride, indulge in a complimentary spaghetti dinner hosted by the organizing committee.
