Tour de Trail: Lexington Lake

Welcome to the Tour de Trail Series in Kansas City—your gateway to exploring some of the most scenic and varied trail systems that the region has to offer! This year’s series features six distinct races, each set against a unique backdrop of lush landscapes and challenging terrain. Each race is approximately 10 kilometers long, ranging from about 5.5 miles to 6.5 miles depending on specific trail conditions.
The Tour de Trail Series not only offers runners the chance to explore new trails but also supports local conservation efforts through Urban Trail Co., a dedicated non-profit organization that helps maintain and build KC’s beloved hiking paths. A portion of every race entry fee goes directly towards this cause, ensuring these beautiful trails remain accessible for everyone to enjoy.
Participants can look forward to scenic routes that wind through diverse settings such as forested areas, lakeside paths, and grassy meadows. Each event is carefully planned with the safety and enjoyment of runners in mind, featuring well-marked courses and ample support along the way. The races are designed to accommodate both experienced trail runners and newcomers alike, offering a comfortable 4-hour window for completion.
Registration options include signing up individually or as part of the full series package. If you commit early by May 22nd through UltraSignup, you can secure all six events at a discounted rate of $265—a significant savings over individual race entries priced at $50 each. Completing every stage in the Tour de Trail Series will earn runners an exclusive finisher’s award, which might include items like custom sweatshirts or cozy sweatpants, perfect for cooler fall days.
On race day, participants can expect a friendly and supportive atmosphere with water stations along the route providing cold fizzy drinks and snacks. While cups are not provided at aid stations, all waste must be carried out by runners to keep trails pristine. Dogs are welcome on leashes but owners should ensure they clean up after their pets.

The Tour de Trail Series team works closely with land managers and stewards to minimize impact on the environment while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
