The 2026 Wyoming Adventure Tour takes you on an unforgettable journey through scenic landscapes and charming small towns. Departing from Powell, this six-day cycling adventure begins with a mandatory orientation meeting at 7 p.m. on July 11. On Day 1 (Sunday, July 12), you'll embark on a 56-mile loop that weaves through the picturesque Bighorn Basin. Enjoy rolling terrain along the Shoshone River and pass by several quaint towns before returning to Powell for an overnight stay. Day 2 (Monday, July 13) brings a longer ride of 74 miles. The day starts with retracing your steps from Day 1 but soon heads northwest into Montana. You'll tackle a challenging climb as you head west towards Red Lodge and then enjoy the descent into town. For an overnight adventure, camp on a bench above Red Lodge at the fairgrounds. Day 3 (Tuesday, July 14) sees you start with a short ascent out of Red Lodge followed by a delightful downhill. The route then turns south across Wyoming's landscape before arriving in Cody for two nights of accommodation and rest. On Day 4 (Wednesday, July 15), the day is marked by an out-and-back journey covering 78 miles from Cody through Buffalo Bill State Park via Lower Southfork Road. You have the flexibility to turn around at any point along this scenic route that parallels the Shoshone River. Day 5 (Thursday, July 16) takes you eastward with a gradual descent for about 30 miles before turning north on a low-traffic highway alongside Sheep Mountain Uplift. The day concludes in Lovell, known for its friendly community atmosphere and overnight camping at the local high school. Finally, Day 6 (Friday, July 17) is a shorter ride of 28 miles back across the Bighorn Basin using mostly county roads to return you to Powell where your adventure comes to an end.
