Sat September 12, 2026 marks the return of an unforgettable cycling adventure through Colorado's breathtaking landscapes. The Tour of the Moon invites you to explore the unique terrain of the Colorado National Monument and its surrounding farmlands. Starting within the rugged boundaries of the Colorado National Monument—a unit of the National Park System—you'll traverse a challenging yet rewarding route that showcases nature’s raw beauty. This tour offers two distinct options: the 64-mile journey through picturesque farm country, or the classic 41-mile loop back to Grand Junction for those seeking a shorter but equally thrilling experience. Safety is paramount on this ride. The Colorado National Monument mandates front and rear lights due to unlit tunnels that pose potential hazards. While you can switch off your lights once you exit these areas, it’s recommended to keep them illuminated throughout the tour for enhanced visibility. For participants who may not have their own equipment, a light set (front and rear) is available at registration for just $25. Upon completion of your ride, be prepared for an enticing post-ride celebration featuring a hearty lunch, a lively beer garden, an exhibitor expo, and entertainment that will keep the energy high. Each participant receives a commemorative cycling jersey or tech tee, along with a number plate and bib. Amply stocked aid stations offer healthy and energizing refreshments to sustain you throughout your journey. For those who find their initial attire doesn’t fit quite right, exchanges are possible at our merchandise booth during the event—though sizes may be limited due to inventory constraints. A detailed size chart is available for reference. The Tour of the Moon welcomes cyclists young and old; youth aged 16 years and younger can participate free of charge. And while weather conditions might challenge other events, this tour will proceed rain or shine, ensuring you an exhilarating experience come what may. Join us on September 12 to witness firsthand the stunning vistas and rugged trails that make Colorado's landscapes so special.
