Trail Cens'Ationnel Orvault

The Trail CENS’Ationnel d'Orvault, organized by SC Orvault Athlétisme and affiliated with the FFA (French Athletics Federation), invites runners to explore the picturesque valley of Cens. This innovative trail race offers a unique format that allows participants to choose their distance—12 km, 21 km, or 30 km—and features a single start time at 9:30 AM for all categories.
The event begins with an initial loop of 12 kilometers through the valley, featuring 200 meters of elevation gain. Participants will experience winding paths and scenic landscapes before returning to the starting point at the gymnase. After completing this first loop, runners have two options: continue onto a second loop or finish their race here for a total distance of 12 km.
The second loop is an additional 9 kilometers with another 100 meters of elevation gain, taking participants through Orvault's countryside and back to the gymnase. Again, runners can choose whether they want to extend their journey further by embarking on a third loop or conclude at this point for a total distance of 21 km.
For those who wish to push themselves even more, there is a final challenging 9-kilometer loop with an elevation gain of 150 meters. This technical section will lead runners back into the valley before returning them to the finish line. Completing all three loops earns participants recognition in the 30 km category.
Races are well-supported throughout each stage, with hydration and food stations available at every loop’s end as well as upon completion of your chosen distance. The course is marked for easy navigation through varied terrain including trails, single tracks, and some stretches of road within private properties that require respectful passage only on race day.
Participants can also compete in a relay format involving teams of three runners who cover distances of 12 km, followed by two segments of 9 kilometers each. This team event adds an element of camaraderie to the challenging individual courses.
The registration deadline is Monday, September 7th at 6 PM, with no on-site sign-ups permitted after this time. Dossards can be collected either on Saturday, September 12th from 2 PM to 6 PM at L'Atelier du Running Orvault or directly at the event site starting Sunday morning by 7:30 AM until the race begins.
