This historic town, perched at an altitude of 651 meters along the Via Domitia and surrounded by lush landscapes including the Luberon and Montagne de Lure, offers a picturesque backdrop for trail runners from around the globe. The THP is renowned as one of the premier ultra-trail events in Provence. With its diverse range of distances catering to all levels of endurance athletes, participants can choose between ten distinct options ranging from 10 km to an epic 165 km journey across rugged terrains and scenic vistas. The shorter routes like THP20 (21km) and THP30 (28km) offer challenging yet manageable distances for those looking to test their limits on a more approachable scale, while the longer events such as THP80 (79 km), THP120 (120 km), and especially the grueling THP160 (165 km with 7,000 m of elevation gain) are reserved for seasoned ultra-runners seeking a true adventure. The trail itself winds through ridgelines, rocky outcrops, and vibrant Provençal vegetation. Runners will be treated to breathtaking views that stretch across the Montagne de Lure, where local wildlife including deer, roe deer, and foxes often make an appearance amidst the natural beauty. The THP160 not only challenges participants physically but also rewards them with panoramic vistas of towering peaks. For younger trail enthusiasts, there are special categories like the "THP éveil" (500m for ages 3-9), "THP découverte" (1km for ages 10-11), and "THP junior" & "THP ado" (3km for ages 12-15) to introduce the next generation of runners to this exhilarating sport.
