Trail de la Fougère

The Fougères Urban Trail 2026 is an exceptional night-time sporting experience taking place on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Coinciding with the European Heritage Days, this event offers a unique and festive crossing of Fougères' rich historical landscape, including spectacular passages through its world-famous medieval castle, ancient churches, and preserved natural spaces. The trail is also a solidarity-driven event, with €3 from every registration donated to the "Brillons tous avec Soan" association. A vibrant atmosphere is guaranteed with musical animations throughout the courses, culminating in a memorable finish through a tunnel.

The event offers a wide range of distances for all ages. Note: Headlamps are mandatory for all adult races starting in the evening. There are no on-site registrations for adult categories.

Fougères is a designated City of Art and History located in the Ille-et-Vilaine department of Brittany, approximately 50 km northeast of Rennes. It has a population of about 20,000 residents. The city is globally recognized for its medieval castle, one of the most imposing fortresses in Europe, which overlooks the medieval quarter and the Saint-Sulpice church. Demographically, Fougères is primarily French and European, with a strong Breton identity and a deep-rooted working-class tradition linked to its history in the shoe-making industry. The median household income is approximately €19,800 per year.

Participants enjoy a comprehensive service, including home delivery of bibs for early registrations (before Sept 1st). The start area at the Parking du Jardin des fêtes offers amenities such as a free bag drop and changing rooms. After the race, a recovery area featuring local products awaits the runners, along with on-site catering options. The 24 km route even includes a forest section, providing a striking contrast to technical urban passages like the Pinterie climb or the crossing of "Les Ateliers."
