Experience the 21st edition of the Pleyben Trail, part of this year’s Challenge Armorik Trail series featuring six races to secure your classification. This trail covers an exhilarating 44.5 kilometers through the picturesque landscapes of Pleyben and surrounding communes. The race begins in Pleyben, weaving its way through local trails and forests before descending towards the Nantes-Brest Canal via Pont-Coblant. The route then traverses Gouézec until reaching the summit of Roche du Feu (281 meters). From there, participants will descend rapidly back to the canal along forest paths. The main race is the Canal PopKorn, a challenging 44.5 kilometers with significant elevation gains at 1250 meters. This course is designed for seasoned and well-conditioned runners aiming to test their limits on a varied terrain that alternates between technical sections and more rolling stretches, including both ascents and descents. For those seeking an additional challenge, the Canal PopKorn Relais Duo offers two routes: 18.5 kilometers and 26 kilometers. Only fifty pairs can participate; ensure you are at Pont-Coblant's Bistro du Canal for your relay handover before 10:50 AM to avoid missing out. The Radio Lavoir course, a more accessible option with a total of 15 kilometers and 270 meters in elevation gain, is also part of the Challenge Armorik Trail classification. It promises a varied route through Pleyben’s charming countryside, offering one aid station at kilometer 7.5 near Victor le Chaland. For beginners or those preferring shorter distances, The Petites Ondes offers a 5-kilometer course with minimal elevation changes and technical challenges. Participants can also enjoy a free walking event starting from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Inscriptions for all races are available on-site at 5 euros. Children’s events, including those suitable for the youngest participants up to middle school age, will be held with Mario and Luigi as enthusiastic marshals. A covoiturage (carpooling) initiative is encouraged to ease travel during this weekend of sports in central Brittany. Don’t forget your reusable containers at aid stations; drench yourself after the race or freshen up in the gymnasium’s showers, which are accessible for all participants.
