Trails 4 Tails

About the Event

Course

Take on Trails 4 Tails— a 40-mile ultra, team relay, or 25K trail race showcasing a mix of terrain, including about a mile of pavement, open fields, and winding singletrack. When conditions allow, the course also includes a scenic stretch along the lake shoreline. Runners will pass through the Chestnut Orchard, the site of Rummel Farm, and the historic Mary Ann Furnace area, blending natural beauty with local history. Each year brings a new challenge: odd years run clockwise, even years run counterclockwise, offering a fresh experience every time. Whether you’re tackling the full ultra, sharing miles with a team, or testing yourself on the 25K, Trails 4 Tails delivers an unforgettable trail adventure for a great cause.

40 Mile Ultra

Runners have an 11-hour overall cutoff, with a hard aid station cutoff at 4:00 p.m. — participants must leave for their final loop by this time Those who register by August 1 will receive an official race shirt.

40 Mile Relay

The Trails 4 Tails Ultra Relay starts and finishes at Pavilion #1, where teams will have access to a fully stocked aid station and restroom facilities. The relay course consists of 7 loops of 5.72 miles, with approximately 600 feet of elevation gain per loop. Teams may include up to 7 runners, and each member can run one or multiple loops in any order — it’s up to you! Teams have an 11-hour cutoff to complete all 7 loops. The aid station keeps everyone fueled and energized with Tailwind, Coke, Ginger Ale, bacon, pierogies, quesadillas, grilled cheese, pickles, and plenty of sweet and salty snacks. Participants who register by August 1 will receive an official race shirt.

25K+

The Trails 4 Tails 25K starts and finishes at Pavilion #1, where runners will have access to a fully stocked aid station and restroom facilities. The 25K course consists of three loops of 5.72 miles, totaling approximately 17.2 miles with ~1,800 feet of elevation gain. The aid station will keep you fueled with Tailwind, Coke, Ginger Ale, bacon, pierogies, quesadillas, grilled cheese, pickles, and a mix of sweet and salty snacks. Runners have a generous 7.5-hour cutoff to complete the 25K, making this a great option for both experienced trail runners and those looking to step up to a longer distance.
