Trails & Tarmac 12hr BackYard Ultra - Summer

Immerse yourself in the rugged beauty of the Black Mountains near Crickhowell at the next installment of the Limitless Trails BYU Series. This unique race challenges runners to complete 4.2-mile loops each hour, blending trail and tarmac terrain that offers a mix of runnable stretches, a gradual climb, and a short but steep ascent.
The event follows the Backyard Ultra format with an added twist: participants must answer the bell from the starting corral until only one runner remains standing after completing 32 miles. Those who finish this grueling distance earn a special ULTRA medal, while the last competitor to cross the line takes home the coveted winner’s trophy.
Race organizers ensure reliable timing and provide a welcoming headquarters equipped with water and snacks throughout the event. After five hours of racing, runners can enjoy hot food served at HQ. The race adheres strictly to standard BYU rules: start each loop on time when the bell rings, finish within the hour, no poles or personal aid while running, and slower runners must yield to faster ones.
Supporters are welcome at headquarters but cannot enter the starting corral except in emergencies. A main kitchen staffed by event organizers offers meals and refreshments, complemented by a pop-up space for crew preparation.
