Trails To the Sky 50k/10k

Trails To the Sky is an exhilarating trail running event set to take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Voorhees State Park in Glen Gardner, New Jersey. Managed by CTW Endurance and recognized as a UTMB Index Race, this event offers runners the opportunity to qualify for international series while enjoying challenging terrain and stunning natural scenery.
The race features two distances: a grueling 50k ultra trail run and a scenic 10k loop. The 50k course consists of five laps around a 10k route that winds through deciduous forests and rocky trails within the park, providing runners with significant vertical gain totaling approximately 4,500 feet.
The event starts early in the morning, with participants gathering at the race headquarters located near Voorhees State Park's group reservation area. The 50k ultra begins promptly at 8:00 AM, followed by the 10k trail run starting at 9:00 AM.
Runners can expect a course that showcases the park’s natural beauty and includes a notable highlight—the passage of one of New Jersey's largest private telescopes. The observatory sits atop a high point within the park, offering runners an inspiring view as they pass by this astronomical landmark during each lap.
Trail conditions vary; while generally runnable, wet sections can be muddy after rain, requiring participants to prepare for technical footing and potential slippery surfaces. Yellow arrow signs and orange lawn flags mark the route clearly throughout the loops, ensuring that all runners stay on course without difficulty.
Logistical support is well-organized with aid stations located at mile 3 and near the start/finish line. These stations provide essential supplies such as Skratch electrolytes, water, soda, fruit, cookies, pickles, and pretzels to keep participants fueled throughout their journey.
For those tackling the full distance of 50k, a dedicated gear setup area is available at the finish line for each lap, allowing runners to adjust equipment or rest briefly before continuing on. Timing is conducted manually through the Ultrasignup app; runners must ensure that their bib numbers are visible as they cross each lap and reach the final finish line.
Registration opens at 7:00 AM with check-in concluding by 7:45 AM, giving participants ample time to prepare for a day of challenging yet rewarding running. All finishers will receive custom medals upon completion, while top male and female runners in both distances are awarded special prizes recognizing their exceptional performance.
